10 of 10 open

Ten slots. Two rails.

US$1,000 for a 30-day run: your name, one line, an icon and a link, in a rail beside people actively working out where to eat, drink and go tonight. No tiers, no auction, no banners, no tracking pixels, and no influence whatsoever over what we write about anywhere.

Card payment isn't switched on yet, so a slot is arranged over email for now. We'd rather say that than show you a button that doesn't do anything.

The board

Counted from the rails themselves at build time, so this page and the ads beside it can never disagree about what is sold.

What a slot is

  • A card, not a banner. Icon, name, one line, one link. It looks like the rest of the page because a card that screams gets ignored.
  • Every screen size. Rails on desktop, a scrolling tape below 1280px. The same ten placements either way, never both at once.
  • Labelled, always. "Sponsored" in the rail, "Ad" in the tape.
  • No tracking pixels. We don't run them on readers and we won't add them for an advertiser.

Questions

Does paying change what wyd says about a venue?
No, and there is no version of this where it does. Every venue on wyd is researched from its own website and stamped with the date it was checked, whether or not anyone has paid us. A slot buys a card in a rail. It does not buy a listing, a ranking, a mood, or a word of the write-up.
What do I actually get?
One of ten cards in the rails beside the content: your name, one line of copy, an icon and a link, for a 30-day run. On phones and tablets the rails become a scrolling tape and your card travels with it, so the placement is on every screen size rather than desktop only.
Is it labelled as an ad?
Always, in both layouts. A paid card carries a "Sponsored" label in the rails and an "Ad" tag in the tape. That is not negotiable and not something we will quietly drop for a bigger cheque — a disclosure that can be bought off is not a disclosure.
Can I buy a specific slot, or the top of the rail?
You can ask for a side and a position and we will tell you what is free. The board below is the honest state of it.
What about readers who pay to remove ads?
They exist — wyd sells an ad-free year — and they will not see your card. We would rather tell you that up front than sell you an audience we have already sold out of.

Wanting your venue listed or corrected is a different thing, and it's free — that's over here.
