City Botanic Gardens
Queensland's oldest heritage garden, eighteen hectares wrapped around 1.2 kilometres of Brisbane River frontage at the bottom of the CBD. Open 24 hours, free, with an inclusive playground, a café and hour-long guided walks.

No ticket or booking for general entry. Guided walks leave from the Information Kiosk at 11am and 1pm Monday to Saturday except public holidays; customised group walks (10 or more) must be booked six weeks ahead on 07 3403 8888. Sites within the gardens can be hired for events. Entry is via the Alice Street entrance at the intersection with Albert Street next to the Kangaroo Point Bridge, the Edward Street gate, the Goodwill Bridge and The Domain at Gardens Point Road, or the Parliament House entrance on George Street.

"Located in the heart of Brisbane, the City Botanic Gardens is Queensland's oldest heritage garden. Steeped in Brisbane history, the riverside park spans 18 hectares and 1.2 kilometres of river frontage. It's home to heritage, exotic and native plants and trees. "There's limited street parking around the botanic gardens. Disability parking is available inside the Edward Street gate and behind The Gardens Club (entry via Gardens Point Road)." Drop-off areas are on Gardens Point Road off Alice Street and George Street off Alice Street.
"The closest train stations are Central Station and South Bank, which are both a 10-minute walk from the botanic gardens. The closest bus stops are on Alice Street and George Street." The free City Loop service (routes 40 and 50) stops in front of the gardens on Alice Street. Closest ferry terminals are QUT Gardens Point (CityCat and Express CityCat) and Riverside (CityCat and Cross River Ferry).
