The story
"The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium is one of Brisbane's most popular tourist attractions. The venue's centrepiece is the spectacular Cosmic Skydome. It showcases immersive fulldome shows and projections of Brisbane's night sky and the wider universe. The Display Zone, Sundial Courtyard and Galaxy Gift Shop mean there's something for everyone to enjoy a great day out." Current exhibitions include "Earth: Our Blue Oasis", a display on Sir Thomas Brisbane's life and astronomical work, and "Skylore: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Astronomy" — "The First Australians observed southern skies for over 65,000 years. They paid close attention to changes in the sun, moon, and stars. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders share star knowledge in this unique exhibition." The Sundial Courtyard on the eastern side has a giant concrete, steel and glass sundial "used to tell the time when the sun is shining".
